Suicide bomber attacks military checkpoint in Maiduguri

A suicide bomber has detonated a bomb at a military checkpoint in Jimtilo, in Maiduguri.

Two civilian vigilantes revealed to AFP that the blast occurred on Monday, at about 12.10 pm, while passengers were arriving in Maiduguri were being screened.

Babakura Kolo, who is part of the militia assisting the military against the insurgents, said that: “There have been casualties but we’re still working to confirm the numbers.”
