In the list below we have put three common and frequent STDs, read about:
  1. Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
This type of STDs belongs to the most frequent in the USA, and around 79 millions of Americans are affected at any given time. According to CDC reports almost all men and women contract the disease at some point in their lives, even if they have only one partner in their lifetime. This disease could be spread trough vaginal, oral and anal contact, and what’s important to know is that this disease is very successful in hiding. It could lie down under cover for years before producing symptoms. The visible symptoms would be small bumps throughout the genital area. HPV sometimes goes away on its own and some may have the virus without ever being aware of it. Sometimes treatment is required, however, and untreated HPV can lead to cancer of the genitals or throat. There is no way to test for HPV, but you should consult a doctor right away for treatment if you develop the warts. HPV itself cannot be cured, but it can be treated to alleviate the symptoms or kill precancerous cells. To protect yourself from HPV, consider getting vaccinated against the disease and use condoms every time you have intercourse.
  1. Genital Herpes
One of every six people is infected with this type of genital herpes, and many could not even notice that they have the disease. Like the previous disease, this one can be transmitted to vaginal, anal and oral contact,
Herpes sometimes it has no symptoms, but sometimes they could blisters- like sores on the genital and around the mouth. It could take up to several weeks the herpes to heal.  The herpes can be very unpleasant and can cause many side effects like: body aches, chills and fewer.  In the case when is not treated the herpes could cause recurring sores to spread on the other parts of the body, or burning sensation while urinating. Herpes could be a reason for miscarriage or vaginal spotting. What’s really sad is that the herpes could be transmitted to newborn baby during birth. There is no cure for herpes, but it can be diagnosed with a lab test and then treated and managed. Always use a condom to reduce your risk of getting herpes but know that this may not protect you completely, as herpes sores can be found in areas condoms don’t cover. Never have relations during an outbreak while you have open stores as these increases your risk of spreading the infection.

3 Trichomoniasis

The short names for this disease would be trich, a disease caused by infectious parasite. This disease also belongs to the group of STD which are the most often treated in the US. The healing process is with antibiotics, and looking at the statistic data, more than 70% do not get proper medial care because they shown not any symptoms. Those that do will notice itching and burning sensations in the genitals which can come and go and may be accompanied by fluid discharges.

Left untreated, trichomoniasis can make it easier to contract other STDs and increases the risk of premature birth.

A simple lab test can be used to check for the bacteria and a course of antibiotics will clear the problem with no lasting effects. Latex condoms are considered to be adequate protection against trichomoniasis.

Get help from your doctor if you have noticed that have any symptoms mentioned before, rather than getting embarrassed. STDs are common and treatments are available. Don’t suffer in silence or worry about whether or not you could be infected. Consult with the doctor and act properly on the whole situation.
