Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, who’s been under intense scrutiny for the past few weeks, has personally reacted to the Senate forgery scandal that has called his integrity and reputation into question.
Ekweremadu, who is alleged to have altered the Senate rules, insists that he is not under any form of police investigation.
He spoke at the weekend in Enugu during a fund raising dinner for the Enugu State PDP secretariat.
Ekweremadu stated that the allegations against him in the Senate are about non-existent issues that have nothing to do with his position as the Deputy Senate President.
He said the ongoing investigation was being orchestrated by the All Progressives Congress and their media.
“I am sure you are seeing and hearing what they say in the media, most of those things are certainly not true. No police is investigating me because there is nothing to investigate.
“It is only APC and their media that are investigating. What is happening in the Senate is purely Senate affairs and will remain as that.”
